The Neighborhood Network Watch has released its report on the "Strategic Importance of Web 2.0." The report is aimed to encourage the adoption of publicly used Web 2.0 websites and technologies in order to mobilize the community to fight terrorism in their communities.
The report urges other branches of the government to begin using these readily available technologies both for operational usage and for accessing the community, but also for data mining operations. Social networking sites, such as facebook and myspace, were singled out to be the most promising prospects. The Neighborhood Network Watch has long used both these sites for mobilizing the public, communication, and the dissemination of news regarding the group.
